Navi Mumbai's Shahbaz village witnessed a tragic incident on Saturday morning as a three-storey building collapsed, trapping at least two people under the debris. The incident occurred around 5 am, according to Kailas Shinde, the commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
Immediate rescue operations are underway, with police, fire brigade, and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team actively working at the site. The building, a ground-plus-three (G+3) structure, housed 13 flats.
Shinde confirmed that two individuals have been successfully rescued and admitted to a hospital, where they are reported to be in stable condition.
"The building, which is approximately 10 years old, collapsed under uncertain circumstances. An investigation is ongoing, and actions will be taken against the building owner," Shinde stated.
