Three university students—Shrey Nagar, Aniket Nagar, and Deepanshu Bhati—were arrested for stealing a brand-new Hyundai Venue from a car showroom in Greater Noida. The theft occurred on September 26, as the trio plotted to help a friend impress his girlfriend with a new car.
The students approached the dealership at the Tugalpur market, requesting a test drive of the Hyundai Venue. Wearing helmets, they convinced the car dealer to drive the vehicle out of the parking lot. Once inside, they swiftly forced the dealer out of the moving car and sped away.
Following the theft, police launched an investigation, reviewing footage from over 100 CCTV cameras in the area. Their efforts led to the recovery of the stolen vehicle, identified by its tinted windows and 'Nagar' written on it.
The arrested students are now facing charges under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for theft and cheating. Authorities are also investigating whether they have any connections to organized crime or previous thefts. The investigation continues as police seek to uncover any broader criminal activity related to the suspects.
