Full state honors for Ratan Tata, one day mourning announced in Maharashtra
In the latest developments of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, the Israel Airports Authority has reported that approximately 330,000 people have returned to Israel from abroad to join Operation Swords of Iron, aimed at countering Hamas. Since October 7, Hamas has fired more than 9,500 rockets towards Israel, resulting in extensive damage and casualties.
Israel's foreign ministry data reveals that the attacks have claimed the lives of 1,400 people, including women and children, and injured 7,198 others, with 342 still hospitalized. Additionally, Hamas is holding 239 hostages, including individuals from various nationalities. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have targeted 14,000 Hamas hideouts, according to the military's spokesperson.
Israel's foreign minister, Eli Cohen, has expressed a commitment to destroying Hamas, labeling the group as a terrorist organization worse than ISIS. Cohen has called upon the international community to support their efforts in fighting against what he sees as evil. In response, the G7 countries have condemned Hamas and affirmed Israel's right to self-defense while also advocating for "humanitarian pauses" to facilitate the delivery of urgently needed assistance and the release of hostages.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and foreign ministers from G7 nations emphasized their support for these humanitarian measures. Israel has reported the killing of a top Hamas weapons maker and an advance into the heart of Gaza, while the conflict continues to escalate, with Israel refusing to cease fire until its hostages are released, and Hamas vowing to continue its fight until Gaza is no longer under attack.
