In Sahibganj's Rajmahal area, an accident occurred during Karma Puja immersion on Sunday morning. Four girls, Priyanka Kumari (9), Riya Kumari (12), Sonakshi Kumari (10), and Chandani Kumari (9), drowned in the Tenwa Nala river. The girls were immersing Karma Dal and other materials when they got into trouble.
Villager Sanjay Mandal, a fisherman, saw the struggling girls and bravely jumped into the river. He managed to rescue three girls, but Priyanka Kumari did not make it. The surviving girls were distressed and alerted their family that Priyanka was still missing.
The local community, including family members and other villagers, rushed to the scene. They conducted a search using fishing nets and other tools. After three hours of searching, Priyanka's body was found at 8:00 AM. Despite efforts, Dr. Uday Kumar Tudu confirmed her death.
Rajmahal police station chief Gulam Sarwar confirmed the death by drowning and stated that the post-mortem is in process. The police are investigating the incident further.
