4 Indian students stabbed in Russia's university hostel

Four Indian students were among several people injured in a stabbing attack at a university dormitory in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic. The incident took place at the State Medical University in Ufa, where a teenager armed with a knife entered a student residence and attacked those living inside.

According to official information, four injured persons are currently receiving medical treatment. One of them is reported to be in serious condition, while three others are said to be stable with moderate injuries. The victims include students residing in the dormitory at the time of the attack. Police said the attacker resisted arrest, during which two police officers were also stabbed. The suspect allegedly inflicted injuries on himself as well before being taken into custody. He has since been admitted to a local children’s hospital in serious condition.

The Indian Embassy in Moscow described the incident as unfortunate and confirmed that four Indian students were injured. The embassy said it is in touch with local authorities, and officials from the Indian Consulate in Kazan are travelling to Ufa to provide necessary assistance to the affected students.
