In a recent incident, the police of Bidhan Nagar Intelligence Branch conducted a surprise raid on a guest house in the Newtown Ghuni Jatragachi area, where they rescued four minors who were allegedly being sex trafficked.
The police had been investigating the guest house for several months based on information from a secret source. Two people from the guest house have been arrested, and the police are currently interrogating them. The entire matter is being investigated by the police of Eco Park police station and the Bidhan Nagar detective branch.
The police were prompted to take action following numerous complaints from locals, but no action had been taken until now. The rescued minors are being questioned to determine their home and the circumstances under which they were brought to the guest house.
The police are also attempting to determine whether the business was operated by force and who else may be involved in the sex trafficking operation. The search for evidence is ongoing at the guest house.
