A major road accident was reported in Kolkata’s Lake Town area after an overspeeding Innova lost control and rammed into multiple vehicles, causing traffic disruption on the airport-bound stretch. The incident led to a chain collision involving four vehicles and created congestion for commuters.
According to reports, the accident occurred around 11:45 am when a private Innova travelling from Ultadanga towards Lake Town hit another private car. The impact pushed the car into a Bolero pickup van, which then collided with an ambulance, damaging all four vehicles in quick succession.
The ambulance, which was carrying a patient, left immediately for the hospital, while the remaining vehicles were taken into custody by Lake Town Police Station. Traffic movement in the area was affected for some time before normalcy was restored.
