No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
At least five workers lost their lives and 11 others were injured after a crane collapsed at the NCC Central Workshop in Telangana’s Rangareddy district. The incident occurred in Mahalingapuram village under Chevella limits during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.
According to police, 16 workers had taken shelter inside a shed adjacent to the crane to escape the rain when the structure suddenly gave way and crashed onto them. The impact caused severe injuries, leading to multiple casualties at the site.
The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, where several are reported to be in critical condition. The deceased workers have been identified, and all are residents of Bihar.
Authorities have initiated a detailed investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the collapse and assess any lapses in safety measures.
