A family of five, including a mechanic, his wife, and their three daughters, was found dead inside their locked residence in the Lisadi Gate area of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday evening. The victims were identified as Moin (father), Asma (mother), and their daughters Afsa (8), Aziza (4), and Adiba (1).
Police officials stated that the house was locked from the outside, leading neighbors to inform them after noticing suspicious circumstances. Officers accessed the house through the roof and discovered the bodies. Moin’s legs were tied with a bedsheet, Asma’s body was found lying on the ground, and the children’s bodies were found hidden in a bed box. The youngest child was reportedly stuffed in a sack within the bed box.
Moin, a mechanic by profession, and his family had been missing since Wednesday. Their house, rented just 45 days earlier, was approximately 70 square yards in size. The discovery was first made by Moin’s brother, Salim, who, unable to contact the family, arrived at the house with his wife. With help from neighbors, they forced entry and alerted authorities upon discovering the scene.
Investigations revealed signs of severe injuries caused by blunt objects. A forensic team is examining the crime scene, collecting evidence, and conducting further tests to assist in identifying suspects. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations, which will provide detailed information about the cause and timing of the deaths.
The police are interviewing neighbors, relatives, and acquaintances to gather more information about the family’s background and any possible motives for the killings. The crime scene remains secured, and authorities are treating the case as a high-priority investigation.
