5.6 Magnitude earthquake in Bangladesh sends tremors across parts of Bengal

Tremors reverberated through various parts of Bengal on Saturday morning following a 5.6 magnitude earthquake that struck neighboring Bangladesh. The National Seismological Centre reported that the seismic event occurred around 9:05 am, with its epicenter situated at a depth of 55 kilometers in south-eastern Bangladesh. The earthquake's coordinates were recorded at 23.15 degrees latitude and 90.89 degrees longitude.

The West Bengal Disaster Management Department quickly responded, stating that, as of now, no damage has been reported from any location in the state. While the department is awaiting the final assessment, there have been no indications of harm or destruction resulting from the earthquake. Both Kolkata Police and Kolkata Municipal Corporation officials echoed this sentiment, affirming that there were no reports of loss of life or property.
