6-year-old missing boy found dead in jungle near home in Asansol

A six-year-old boy, identified as Ritwik Ruj, was found dead in a forest near his residence in Turi Para under Ward 54 of Asansol South Police Station on Sunday morning. The victim's father, Chhotu Ruj, works as a mason, and his mother, Purnima Ruj, is a domestic worker. Both parents had left for work on Saturday morning, only to discover their child missing upon returning home. After searching the neighborhood without success, the family lodged a missing person complaint with the police on Saturday evening.

The child's body was discovered on Sunday morning when two local youths investigated after hearing stray dogs barking in the nearby woods. Mystery surrounds the discovery as family members claimed they had thoroughly searched the exact same forest area on Saturday and found no trace of the child. The sudden appearance of the body at the location hours later has raised serious questions among locals and relatives regarding potential foul play.
