Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra and her husband Raj Kundra have hit the headlines again, this time over rumors of an Income Tax raid at their Mumbai residence. The reports surfaced amidst an ongoing investigation into an alleged ₹60 crore fraud case involving the couple. However, Shilpa’s legal team was quick to react, categorically dismissing these reports as baseless and misleading information designed to create panic.
Speaking to the media, Shilpa’s advocate Prashant Patil clarified that no "raid" of any nature had taken place. He explained that Income Tax officials had visited the premises for a "routine verification" and follow-up procedure. Patil emphasized that this visit was a standard administrative exercise and should not be confused with an enforcement action or a search operation linked to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) case.
The legal statement also carried a stern warning for those spreading rumors in the public domain. Advocate Patil stated that connecting this routine tax visit to the ₹60 crore fraud case is "mischievous" and legally actionable. He asserted that the actress is prepared to take legal consequences against individuals or platforms that continue to mischaracterize the situation as a criminal raid.
