More than 3.5 crore pilgrims take holy bath during Amrit Snan at Mahakumbh
Congress national president Malikarjun Kharge and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav held a joint press conference in Lucknow, launching a sharp attack on the BJP alliance. SP president Akhilesh Yadav asserted that the rising public support for the INDIA alliance signals a significant defeat for the BJP in the upcoming elections.
"The public support for the INDIA alliance clearly shows that in the coming times, the people of this country of 140 crores will make the BJP crave for 140 seats. The wheel of the BJP's chariot has not only got stuck but has sunk, that is why their language has changed," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the India alliance is set to win 79 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Taking a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi, he quipped, "BJP had to ask for votes on their work... they have changed the language of their speeches. The India alliance government will be formed on June 4."
He further criticized the BJP's performance, stating, "The fourth phase of elections is over. The BJP has climbed as much mountain of lies as it could. Now it has started rolling down from the peak. Along with their countdown, their mountain descent has also begun. The BJP is entangled in its own negative narrative. In their 10 years in Delhi and seven years in UP, every promise and every statement of theirs turned out to be false."
