Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has raised the bar yet again with his upcoming web series, "Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar," revealing that it took an impressive seven months to craft the breathtaking sets in Mumbai Film City. In an interview, Bhansali shared insights into the colossal three-acre set, describing it as the most significant project of his career.

The elaborate set of "Heeramandi" boasts the royal palace of Mallikajaan, the esteemed Madam of the prestigious brothel, along with the lavish quarters of Fareedan, a rival courtesan portrayed by Sonakshi Sinha. The meticulously designed set also features a majestic white mosque, sprawling courtyards, and ornate halls adorned with water fountains, meticulously crafted by a team of 700 skilled craftsmen.

After the completion of the set, Bhansali stated, "When there are characters I love a lot, I create special spaces for them. My art directors are petrified when I call them. I chew their brains until I get things right. Making a good set requires lots of love and responsibility. Even the design of a single pillar comes from the depth of one’s imagination."

He added, "This is the biggest set I have made in my life. Because it's really that walls have been pushed way beyond what I thought. I feel I have started enjoying and understanding more and more as my filmmaking has progressed. I have started enjoying creating walls at a distance and further and further."
