In a significant development ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, Vikas Agrahari, a key figure in Rahul Gandhi's campaign team in Amethi, has defected to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Agrahari, who previously served as the state coordinator for the Congress Party in Amethi, joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Smriti Irani.

His decision to switch sides has dealt another blow to the Congress Party's prospects in Amethi, where he was considered close to Rahul Gandhi and played a crucial role in managing electoral campaigns.
