Here's what protecting WB Governor from legal action against sexual harassment
The Delhi High Court on Monday rejected a plea requesting the release of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on "extraordinary interim bail" in all criminal cases filed against him by the Enforcement Directorate and the State until the end of his tenure.
The court levied a fine of ₹75,000 on the petitioner, stating that the Aam Aadmi Party leader remains in judicial custody according to the court's orders.
The plea, submitted by a fourth-year law student under the title 'We the People of India,' was deemed not admissible by the court, as it cannot grant extraordinary interim bail in ongoing cases against a person holding a high office in its writ jurisdiction.
Senior Advocate Rahul Mehra, representing Kejriwal, criticized the PIL as "completely impermissible" and "misguided."
