A dumper truck and trailer head on collision kills one in Alipurduar. According to reports, the accident occured today morning in Birpada area. The deceased has been identified as Suresh Rai and he was the driver of the dumper truck. He was a resident of Jaigaon area.
On the other hand, the trailer driver has also suffered from major injuries and was rushed to Birpada hospital. From there, has has been reffered to the North Bengal Medical Coollege and Hospital. As per locals, the dumper was carrying boulders from Bhutan to Chengrabandha.
The trailer was coming from the opposite direction carrying cold drink bottles and was headed for Assam. Witnesses informed officials about the accident. Unfortunately, Suresh died on the spot.
Following the incident, massive traffic jam built up on the road. Police arrived and managed to clear the route. Further investigation is going on.
