More than 3.5 crore pilgrims take holy bath during Amrit Snan at Mahakumbh
Famous Bollywood actor Govinda has reentered the political arena by joining the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena. After a meeting with CM Eknath Shinde, Govinda formally entered active politics, sparking speculation that he might contest the upcoming elections, possibly from North-West Mumbai. This move marks Govinda's return to politics after his debut in 2004 when he won a seat in the Parliament House on a Congress Party ticket from North Mumbai, defeating BJP's Ram Naik.
The Mumbai North-West Lok Sabha seat, currently held by Shiv Sena's Gajanan Kirtikar, could see Govinda as a potential candidate, considering Kirtikar's age. Kareena Kapoor and Karisma Kapoor, two Bollywood superstar sisters, were also present at the meeting with CM Eknath Shinde. Although not joining the party, the sisters are expected to play a crucial role as star campaigners in Govinda's election campaign, adding further buzz to the unfolding political scenario.
