West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, on Thursday, declared that he will socially boycott Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, citing public outrage over the RG Kar Hospital impasse.
Bose announced that he will no longer share any public platform with the Chief Minister, accusing her of violating Constitutional provisions. He vowed to take proactive steps against Banerjee and limit his role to strictly following his Constitutional duties.
Governor Bose reaffirmed his commitment to the people of West Bengal, stating that he stands with the parents of the victim involved in the RG Kar case and those demonstrating for justice. He further criticized the state government’s failure to address the situation and accused them of neglecting their responsibilities.
In a strong rebuke, Bose labeled Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the "Lady Macbeth of Bengal," alluding to her alleged mishandling of the state's law and order.
Additionally, the governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the state’s failure to act on his recommendation to take action against Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal. Bose raised serious concerns over Goyal's conduct, suggesting it bordered on "criminal activity" that could warrant legal action.
