In a pre-election development, Income Tax officials in Kolkata conducted raids across various offices, resulting in the discovery of a substantial amount of cash. Specifically, a sum of approximately Rs 58 lakh was seized from the office of a Sattu manufacturing company owner, raising eyebrows regarding the origin of the funds. Intelligence sources disclosed that the Income Tax Department had been engaged in a thorough search operation at the Chetla office of the Sattu manufacturing company for the past 48 hours, with the counting of the recovered cash still ongoing. Officials involved in the operation anticipate the total amount to rise further as the investigation progresses. Interestingly, the owner of the company failed to provide satisfactory explanations regarding the source of the discovered money and was unable to furnish any supporting documentation.
