This year, students passing the 10th-grade examination in Jharkhand received relief as the state decided to continue the enrollment process for Intermediate studies in degree-affiliated and constituent colleges. However, the number of available seats has been reduced, marking a transition phase before complete separation of intermediate studies from these colleges in the next two-three sessions. The decision, initiated last year, aims to streamline the education system and ensure adequate enrollment opportunities.
In a meeting held on June 28, 2023, the Department of School Education and Literacy, along with officials from the Jharkhand Academic Council, decided to phase out intermediate studies from degree and affiliated colleges gradually. As per this decision, seats for enrollment in the academic session 2024-26 have been determined by reducing the number of available seats. Colleges are instructed to enroll students only within the specified seat limits, with warnings of consequences if the limits are exceeded. Additionally, data of enrolled students must be uploaded on the UDAYS Plus portal.
