Panic ensued at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Friday afternoon following the receipt of a threatening email claiming the presence of a bomb on the premises. In response, authorities launched a massive search operation inside the airport complex, which yielded no evidence of any explosive device.

The police have now initiated an investigation to trace the sender of the email. The threatening email, received by airport authorities, triggered the security alert, prompting an immediate response from the CISF stationed at the airport.

Despite the extensive search, no suspicious items were found, and the investigation now involves cyber experts to track down the origin of the email. Airport Authority, CISF, and Bidhannagar Police are collaborating to determine the source of the email, with CCTV footage being scrutinized and passengers questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
