Governor CV Anand Bose's new initiative, 'Mission Karuna,' aimed at supporting women suffering from cancer, has sparked controversy in Bengal. The Governor announced financial assistance for 100 women from deprived and poor sections of society. This decision was shared on the official X handle of Raj Bhavan.
As part of 'Mission Karuna,' Raj Bhavan provided two email addresses in the post for cancer-affected women to apply for assistance. The first 100 applicants will receive financial support. Governor Bose visited the home of a cancer patient in Fariya Pukur, North Kolkata. His daughter also battled cancer and this initiative is launched in memory of her.
