At Howrah station, a woman was stabbed to death in the afternoon, causing chaos in the station premises. The accused, identified as Mungesh Yadav, was swiftly arrested by the Golabari police station. The victim's husband, Pintu Biswas, expressed bewilderment regarding the motive behind his wife's murder, indicating that they hailed from Mumbai and Mungesh Yadav was a co-worker at their hotel.
According to police sources, the victim, Rivu alias Sonali Biswas, and her husband Pintu worked together with Mungesh Yadav in a hotel in Mumbai, where an alleged affair between Rivu and Mungesh developed. The accused claimed that Rivu, a mother of two, had promised to marry him and received a significant sum of money from him. However, Rivu abruptly called off the marriage, leading to Mungesh's outburst of anger and the fatal stabbing at Howrah station. The Golabari police station has registered a case of murder and is conducting further investigations into the incident.
