Aadhaar, voter ID and ration cards found in dustbin in Howrah

Several important documents, including Aadhaar cards, voter identity cards, ration cards and job application forms, were recovered from a dustbin on Girish Ghosh Road in the Belur area of Howrah. A large number of Trinamool Congress flags and banners were also found at the location, triggering a political controversy.

Following the recovery, allegations were raised against Seema Bhowmik, former councillor of Ward No. 60. Local BJP workers accused Seema Bhowmik and her husband, Dibakar Bhowmik, of involvement in extortion activities. The allegations surfaced after the documents and party materials were discovered in the dustbin.

Seema Bhowmik denied all allegations related to the incident. The recovery of identity documents, job-related records and other personal papers has raised concerns over the disposal and security of sensitive information. Authorities are expected to examine how the documents reached the dustbin and whether there was any possibility of misuse of personal data.
