In a recent meeting, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its candidates for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections, with Swati Maliwal, the current chairperson of the Delhi Women Commission, making her debut as a nominee.
The Political Affairs Committee of AAP also approved the re-nomination of the party's current Rajya Sabha MP ND Gupta and Sanjay Singh, who is currently in jail in connection with the Delhi liquor scam case.
The nominations come as the party aims to secure all three Rajya Sabha seats from Delhi, considering the significant majority it holds in the Assembly, with AAP MLAs on 62 out of 70 seats.
