Aamir Khan has decided to postpone the trailer launch of his upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par out of respect for the victims of the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. The attack, which took place on April 22, resulted in the deaths of 26 people, including several Indian tourists, a Navy officer, an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official, and foreign nationals from the UAE and Nepal. This attack has deeply affected the nation, leading to widespread grief.

The film's trailer, which was initially scheduled to be unveiled this week as part of the film's promotional campaign, has now been deferred. According to sources close to the film's development, the decision was made by Aamir Khan and his team, who felt it would be inappropriate to move forward with the launch during a period of national mourning. A new release date for the trailer will be announced at a later time.

The terror attack in Pahalgam occurred at around 2:30 pm, when gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists. Among the victims was a young Navy officer who had just gotten married days before, and an IB official who was killed in front of his wife. The attack also claimed the lives of two foreign nationals, one from the UAE and another from Nepal, as well as two local residents of Jammu & Kashmir.

Sitaare Zameen Par is a spiritual sequel to Aamir Khan's 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. The film, directed by Aamir, stars him alongside Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary. Darsheel Safary, who gained recognition for his role in Taare Zameen Par, is expected to unveil the trailer at a later date. The film is expected to focus on the transformative journey of a man who learns from children with unique abilities.

Aamir Khan's return to the big screen is highly anticipated after his last film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which was released in 2022. Sitaare Zameen Par is slated for release on June 20, though the team may adjust the release schedule in the wake of the recent tragedy.
