As the February 5 Delhi Assembly elections draw closer, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a new poster campaign targeting political rivals, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and prominent BJP figures. The poster, which features the images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Congress leaders like Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit, brands them as "dishonest." The tagline, "Kejriwal's honesty will outweigh all the dishonest people," aims to portray AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal as the only honest leader in the fray.
This marks the first time AAP has included Rahul Gandhi in its critical portrayal alongside BJP leaders, a move that has intensified the already strained relationship between AAP and Congress. Despite both parties being part of the opposition INDIA alliance at the national level, they are contesting the Delhi elections separately. AAP’s decision to feature Gandhi alongside BJP leaders in its poster campaign signals a deeper rift between the two parties in Delhi, which has been building over time due to disagreements on several fronts.
The poster also targets Congress for what AAP describes as its silence on key issues. AAP spokespersons, including Priyanka Kakkar, have accused Congress of failing to speak out against the BJP's alleged involvement in corruption, including the misuse of black money and voter manipulation. According to AAP, Congress has not held the BJP accountable for these alleged wrongdoings, which AAP claims further solidifies their position as "dishonest." The poster features key BJP leaders alongside Congress figures like Ajay Maken and Sandeep Dikshit, with AAP portraying them as complicit in the alleged misdeeds.

AAP’s criticisms of Congress have intensified as the election approaches. Congress, which has been accusing AAP of failing to deliver on its promises in Delhi, has continued to challenge Kejriwal’s leadership. Alka Lamba, a Congress candidate from Kalkaji, directly challenged Kejriwal to leave the INDIA alliance if he truly believes in his “honesty” narrative. Lamba highlighted AAP's efforts to forge an alliance with Congress in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, accusing Kejriwal of benefiting the BJP by not competing aggressively in Delhi. She further stated that Congress had to bear the consequences of this alliance, claiming that it led to a poor electoral performance for Congress.
While AAP continues to project itself as a champion of honest governance, it faces significant challenges from both the BJP and Congress in the upcoming elections. The party has framed the election as a battle between its supposed "honest governance" and the alleged failures of both national parties, accusing the BJP and Congress of corruption and ineffectiveness. AAP leaders have argued that the Congress has been unable to present a credible alternative to Kejriwal's leadership in Delhi, further pushing the narrative that Congress has failed the people of the capital.
In addition to its criticism of Congress, AAP has repeatedly accused the BJP of orchestrating a "secret alliance" with the Congress in Delhi, claiming that both parties work in tandem to undermine AAP’s progress in the region. This accusation has been a central theme in AAP’s campaign, with the party using its platform to rally support against both the BJP and Congress. The party’s leadership continues to accuse both parties of failing the people of Delhi, especially in terms of governance and public welfare, while AAP claims it has delivered on promises of education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
