Suvendu-Vaishnaw announce bullet train from Delhi to Siliguri in under 6 hours
Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), led a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday as demonstrators raised repeated slogans of “Dharmendra Pradhan, resign!”. Hundreds of participants, including school students, college students, young professionals and parents, gathered at the venue after police granted permission for the demonstration.
The protest formally began shortly after Dipke arrived at Jantar Mantar. Demonstrators assembled around the venue carrying banners and flowers, while many participants wore cockroach masks associated with the movement. The gathering focused on demands linked to alleged examination-related lapses and calls for the resignation of the Union Education Minister.
Large crowds had started reaching the protest site before the demonstration commenced. Organizers stated that thousands of supporters were arriving at Jantar Mantar to participate in the campaign. Most of those attending were students and young people, making the gathering largely youth-driven in composition.
Delhi Police permitted the protest at Jantar Mantar between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. as a one-time exception. Security arrangements were put in place around the venue, while police personnel remained deployed in the area during the demonstration. Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghose also publicly extended support to Dipke ahead of the protest through a message on social media.
