Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, departed Kolkata on Friday accompanied by his mother, Lata Banerjee, heading to Mumbai for her knee treatment. Family sources revealed that Lata Banerjee is scheduled for a leg operation, and the treatment will take place at Mumbai's renowned Breach Candy Hospital. Following the surgery, she is expected to refrain from walking for a minimum of two weeks. During this period, Abhishek Banerjee plans to stay in Mumbai to provide support and care for his mother.
The decision to seek treatment in Mumbai stems from the hospital's reputation for knee operations, a sentiment echoed by family sources who pointed out that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had undergone a knee operation at the same facility.
