After Pathaan’s roaring success, director Siddharth Anand says ‘Agendas of boycott team failed’

The nation and probably the whole world has been waiting for Shah Rukh Khan to return to the big screen. The Badshah of Bollywood took a break after the failure of Zero in 2018. It was only in 2023 that he made a comeback and within just 10 days of its release, the film became the fourth highest grossing Hindi film of all time. The film created a lot of controversy before its release. In fact, after the release of the first song of Besharam Rang, people called for a boycott of the film. Now that Pathaan is enjoying a huge success, director Siddharth Anand is back with the 'boycott team'.

When the Besharam Rang controversy erupted, the entire Pathaan team maintained a dignified silence. They made it clear that there was nothing offensive about their film and asked everyone to watch it before judging. Now that the film is enjoying a huge success, director Siddharth Anand has responded to those who wanted to boycott the film. He said: “I knew there was nothing offensive in the film but the audience didn't because they hadn't seen the film at the time. They later followed the film and made it a big hit. The boycott team's agendas have failed."

He further added, "I really hope that people who want to boycott Pathaan will also come and watch the film to realize that there is nothing in the film that can hurt their sentiments." Earlier in a statement, Siddharth Anand said, "It's incredible to deliver the biggest 3-day collection in the history of Hindi cinema. For someone who is passionately dedicated to his craft, this is simply a phenomenal result that will inspire me to push the boundaries of cinema in India even further."

He added, "My personal ambition has been to make spectacular films that entertain people and bring the best viewing experience to the community. I have strived for that in most of my films. With 'War' and now 'Pathaan', I feel even more confident in pushing myself and my team to try to create a bigger spectacle that will make India proud on the global stage." The film has already collected Rs 700 crore worldwide and is nearing the 400 crore mark in India.
