AIMIM leader Waris Pathan detained by Mumbai Police en route to Mira road

Former legislator and AIMIM leader, Waris Pathan, faced detention by Mumbai police at the Dahisar checkpoint as he attempted to visit Mira Road, the site of communal clashes in January. The incident occurred ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Lord Ram Lalla idol in the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Despite notifying the police of his intentions, Pathan was not granted permission to travel to Mira Road. In response, he expressed frustration, stating that he had planned to meet the Commissioner of Police to submit a memorandum against individuals delivering hate speeches and inciting communal disturbances.

Pathan's detention raises questions about the restriction on his movement and his ability to address concerns related to communal tensions.
