Muzaffarpur hospital blaze kills 3 patients, leaves 20 injured
An Air India Airbus A350 aircraft suffered engine damage after a container was sucked into one of its engines at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Thursday. The incident occurred while the aircraft was on the tarmac, prompting immediate attention from ground staff.
A video purportedly shot by a passenger on board showed the aircraft stationary on the apron, surrounded by airport personnel. The footage also appeared to show visible damage to the engine, as staff worked around the affected area. No official statement has been issued by Air India so far.
The incident comes shortly after another engine-related issue involving an Air India flight, raising concerns over recent technical snags. In the earlier case, a Mumbai-bound Air India aircraft was forced to return to Delhi after take-off due to an engine problem.
According to aviation officials, the earlier flight experienced a drop in engine oil pressure during flap retraction, leading the crew to shut down the affected engine and carry out a safe landing in Delhi. Authorities said standard operating procedures were followed, and passengers were not harmed.
