Air India Tokyo-Delhi flight diverted to Kolkata over

An Air India flight (AI357) en route from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to New Delhi was diverted to Kolkata on Saturday, June 29, due to a "persistent warm temperature" experienced within the aircraft cabin. The Boeing 787 aircraft landed safely at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, where it is currently undergoing thorough technical inspections.

According to an Air India spokesperson, the crew decided to make a "precautionary diversion" to ensure the safety and comfort of the passengers onboard. The airline confirmed that ground staff in Kolkata are actively assisting all affected passengers, providing necessary support to minimize inconvenience caused by this unforeseen disruption.

Air India has assured that alternative arrangements are being made to fly the passengers to their final destination in Delhi at the earliest. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience caused, reiterating that the "safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew remain top priority." This incident follows a recent Air India flight that returned to Mumbai due to a "burning smell" in the cabin, highlighting ongoing concerns about technical issues with the airline.
