Aircraft crashes into Beijing's tallest skyscraper, building evacuated after impact

A domestically produced B-12PP light general aviation aircraft crashed into the 109-storey CITIC Tower, also known as China Zun, in Beijing on Thursday, damaging part of the skyscraper and prompting an immediate evacuation of the building. Visuals circulating on social media showed the aircraft striking the tower, shattering two windows, while debris fell from the structure and smoke rose from the ground level where wreckage was scattered. One wing of the Sunward SA60L Aurora aircraft was seen lying beside the building, and another image showed a large hole in the exterior of the skyscraper. The number of casualties remained unclear at the time of reporting, and the circulating videos had not been independently verified. The CITIC Tower, located in Beijing's Chaoyang District, is the tallest building in the capital and the third-tallest skyscraper in China.
