Akasa Air and SpiceJet aircraft collide at Delhi airport | Watch

A minor collision between aircraft belonging to Akasa Air and SpiceJet took place at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Thursday afternoon, causing damage to both planes but no injuries to passengers or crew. The incident occurred around 2:15 pm near Terminal 1 while the aircraft were taxiing on the ground.

According to initial information, the Akasa Air flight QP-1406, which was scheduled to depart for Hyderabad, was being taxied out from the stand when it came into contact with a SpiceJet aircraft that had just arrived from Leh and was taxiing towards the stand. Reports indicate that the SpiceJet Boeing 737 sustained damage to its right wing, while the Akasa aircraft’s left-hand horizontal stabiliser was also affected in the collision.

Following the incident, all passengers and crew onboard the Akasa flight were safely disembarked, and arrangements were initiated to accommodate them on alternate flights. The Akasa aircraft was returned to the bay after the collision. Airport authorities were informed immediately, and further investigation into the cause of the incident is underway, with additional details awaited.
