SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is slated to participate in Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra following the resolution of seat-sharing disputes between Congress and SP. The decision comes after discussions between Akhilesh Yadav and Priyanka Vadra, the National General Secretary of Congress, where an agreement was reached to allocate 17 seats to Congress for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Initially agreed upon but not materialized, Akhilesh Yadav's participation in the yatra is now back on track after the seat-sharing agreement.
The culmination of talks between Congress and SP, facilitated by Priyanka Vadra's intervention, marks the end of a period of discord between the two parties. With 17 seats allocated to Congress, both parties have agreed to contest the upcoming elections jointly. Akhilesh Yadav's inclusion in Rahul Gandhi's yatra, starting from Moradabad on February 24th and traversing through Fatehpur Sikri en route to Rajasthan on February 25th, underscores the newfound unity between Congress and SP ahead of the elections.
