British Airways has initiated an internal probe after three pilots operating flight BA276 from Hyderabad to London Heathrow reportedly suffered from suspected food poisoning following an overnight stopover. The situation escalated mid-air at an altitude of approximately 30,000 feet when one of the pilots became severely incapacitated, required onboard oxygen, and needed medical attention upon landing in London.
Despite experiencing worsening symptoms throughout the long-haul journey, the remaining two crew members successfully piloted the aircraft to its destination. Preliminary details indicate that all three pilots had shared breakfast together at their designated hotel lounge in Hyderabad prior to departure and consumed bottled water supplied by an external vendor.
The airline confirmed that passenger safety was maintained at all times under standard operational procedures. Following their arrival, all three crew members filed formal Air Safety Reports and submitted biological samples to pinpoint the source of the illness, while British Airways actively reviews its crew hotel arrangements in Hyderabad.
