Amidst ‘NO SRK, NO DON’ demands, Ranveer Singh pens heartfelt note to Big B and Shah Rukh Khan: ‘I hope I can make you proud’

Actor Ranveer Singh, a devoted fan of Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, expressed his eagerness to honor the iconic role as he takes on the mantle of the new Don. He posted on Instagram, acknowledging the weight of reprising the character originated by Bachchan in 1978, later reimagined by Farhan Akhtar with Shah Rukh Khan in 2006 and 2011.

Excel Entertainment, owned by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani, acquired the rights to the original film directed by Chandra Barot, with the character of Don shaped by esteemed writers Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan. With Ranveer as the new face, Farhan is carrying the franchise forward.

Ranveer shared his profound respect for Bachchan and Khan, referring to them as the "G.O.A.Ts of Hindi Cinema." He hopes to do justice to the "Don" legacy and expressed his understanding of the immense responsibility that comes with it. The actor, currently riding high on the success of "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani," emphasized that this opportunity is a realization of a childhood dream.
