Kolkata Airport makes history by welcoming first Giant Airbus Beluga XL
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda received a warm welcome from party workers upon their arrival in Kolkata on Monday. The leaders are on a two-day visit to the city, where they will conduct crucial meetings with BJP leaders to formulate strategies for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
They visited Gurdwara Bara Sikh Sangat at Jorasanko and Kalighat temple on Tuesday morning to offer prayers before engaging in a series of organizational discussions throughout the day. Amit Shah has set an ambitious target of securing 35 seats from West Bengal in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress has announced protest meetings at the block level, led by its youth wing leaders. Amidst this, BJP state President Sukanta Majumdar expressed confidence in the party's success, stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will secure a majority in the 2024 elections, and Bengal's substantial contribution will play a significant role in achieving this goal.
The Trinamool Congress, on its official platform, criticized the BJP's leadership influx into Bengal, calling it a futile exercise in damage control and demanding clarification on recent remarks that allegedly insulted Bengal's cultural icons.
