Union Home Minister Amit Shah speaks to West Bengal MP on violence during Ram Navami procession
On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, State President & MP, to enquire about the law and order situation in West Bengal following violence during the Ram Navami procession. The conversation focused on the violence that took place in Howrah on Thursday, which continued into Friday. Shah wanted to know the details of the violence and the present situation in Howrah.
Violent clashes occurred in Kazipara in Howrah district during Ram Navami festivities, resulting in torched vehicles and ransacked shops, according to the police. Earlier, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee stated that 31 arrests have been made so far in connection with the violence, and she pledged to take strict action against those involved in the clashes.
