In a focused approach towards the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is directing its attention to West Bengal, initiating tours by central leaders. According to sources within the party, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is contemplating contesting elections from any constituency in North Bengal.
This strategic decision aims to bolster the BJP's presence in the state, drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's successful election in Varanasi, which significantly contributed to the party's triumph in Uttar Pradesh. With a goal of securing more seats in Bengal, Amit Shah may choose to file his nomination from a North Bengal constituency, aligning with the party's ambition to win 35 seats post the assembly elections.
