Union Home Minister Amit Shah is leading in Gujarat’s Gandhinagar seat, continuing the Bharatiya Janata Party's stronghold in the constituency. As of 5:15 pm, Shah has garnered 10,10,972 votes, leading by 7,44,716 votes over his rival, Congress leader Sonal Patel, who has received 2,66,256 votes.
The Gandhinagar seat, which went to the polls on May 7 during the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, has a history of BJP dominance. The seat was previously held by former Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani in 2014 and witnessed the victory of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1996.
The BJP has maintained control of Gandhinagar for over a decade, with prominent leaders such as Vajpayee winning the seat in past elections.
