Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has entered the Guinness Book of World Records by distributing a record number of e-cycles within a 24-hour period. The record was achieved on January 31 during a large-scale distribution drive in Kuppam, his home constituency.
During the programme, 3,742 Super Cycles were distributed within 24 hours out of a total planned distribution of 5,555 units. Addressing a public meeting, Naidu described the Super Cycle as a tool for self-confidence, economic independence and sustainable mobility, particularly for women and students.
The beneficiaries included Self-Help Group members, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, village secretariat staff and other working women. The Chief Minister said the initiative supports women’s empowerment while promoting eco-friendly transport with zero running cost.
Naidu added that the e-cycle programme is part of the Swarna Kuppam Vision 2029, aimed at transforming Kuppam into a net-zero model constituency, and said the state now plans to expand the use of Super Cycles across Andhra Pradesh.
