Angry over multiple relationships, son kills mother in Baguihati

A shocking murder case has surfaced in Baguiati, where a youth allegedly strangled his mother to death following a heated argument over her personal relationships. The accused, identified as Rudradeep, was later arrested by police from Mayapur after reportedly fleeing the scene with valuables.

According to police and local inputs, the victim, Ruma Chakraborty, lived with her husband Ranjit Chakraborty in a rented flat near Jagatpur Kathpol. On Tuesday, her son from a previous marriage visited the residence, where an argument reportedly broke out over her alleged multiple relationships. The dispute quickly escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the altercation, the accused allegedly strangled his mother using a scarf. After committing the crime, he is said to have locked the flat, taken several tolas of gold ornaments, and fled. The incident came to light later in the evening when Ranjit Chakraborty returned home and found the door locked, raising suspicion.

Unable to locate his wife, he entered the flat with the help of a spare key and discovered her lying lifeless on the bed with a scarf around her neck. Police were informed immediately, and officers reached the scene to collect evidence before sending the body for post-mortem. The accused has since been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
