Trump asks Apple CEO not to manufacture in India, says 'they can take care of themselves'
Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor, producer Boney Kapoor, and actor Sanjay Kapoor, passed away on May 2 at the age of 90 in Mumbai due to age-related health issues. The Kapoor family, deeply affected by her loss, gathered at their residence to mourn her passing. Nirmal Kapoor's death marks the end of an era for the prominent Kapoor family, which has been a significant part of the Indian film industry for decades.
Nirmal Kapoor was married to Surinder Kapoor, a well-known producer in the film industry. Together, they had four children: Anil, Boney, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah. In addition to being a mother, she was a cherished grandmother to several of the industry’s rising stars, including Arjun Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor, and Mohit Marwah.
In September 2024, the Kapoor family celebrated Nirmal Kapoor’s 90th birthday, a milestone that was marked by a family gathering. Anil Kapoor, in a heartfelt tribute, posted a series of photos on social media, writing, “90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child.” These moments of joy were in stark contrast to the current period of mourning for the Kapoor family.
After her passing, family members, including Boney Kapoor, Anshula Kapoor, Shanaya Kapoor, and Harsh Vardhan Kapoor, were seen arriving at the family home. Several friends from the industry, including writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar, actor Padmini Kolhapure, and director Rajkumar Santoshi, also paid their respects to Nirmal Kapoor. The Kapoor family remains in mourning as they say their final goodbyes to their matriarch.
