Anti Ragging tech and ISRO scientists to work together to setup system at Jadavpur University

In the wake of a student's tragic death due to ragging in Jadavpur University, efforts to combat ragging and related issues have been initiated within the campus. Following the lead of Governor CV Anand Bose, the installation of anti-ragging technology is in progress. Furthermore, reports suggest that a delegation from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) might visit the university in a bid to enhance security measures. However, the university is now facing additional challenges, with evidence of substance abuse emerging, further intensifying concerns about the campus environment.

1. Jadavpur University, after witnessing the unfortunate death of a first-year student, is now focused on implementing anti-ragging technology on campus, spurred by the initiative of Governor CV Anand Bose.
2. Concerns about substance abuse and alcoholism have come to light, with the discovery of liquor bottles, resembling a beer bar setup, in the open-air theater. This discovery follows the previous incident of marijuana cultivation in the university hostel.
3. In response to these issues, security measures are being enhanced, including the installation of CCTVs at all entrances and other strategic locations within the university premises.

  
The university has also caught the attention of ISRO due to its concerns regarding ragging and substance abuse. The governor has reportedly contacted the chairman of ISRO to explore the development of appropriate technology solutions. ISRO is now working on leveraging various technologies, including video analytics, image matching, automatic target recognition, and remote sensing, to address the issue of ragging effectively.
