"Why no FIR against Amit Shah?" asks Abhishek as CID serves him fresh summon for June 16
Trinamool Chhatra Parishad leader Shubh Ranjan Singh has been accused of printing and distributing fake visiting cards claiming himself to be a “Recruiter” of the Railway Recruitment Panel. The visiting cards display the national emblem — the Ashoka Pillar — alongside his name and the designation “Railway Recruitment Panel Recruiter.” The cards were allegedly distributed to multiple individuals.
The number of people who may have received these cards or were influenced by the claim is currently unknown. The use of the national emblem and reference to a government recruitment body without official authorisation has raised concerns about potential misuse of identity and implications for public trust in official processes.
Former Barrackpore MP Arjun Singh has formally raised the issue with the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. In his communication, he requested a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter, citing the seriousness of forging identity related to a government institution. Singh stated, “This concerns the dignity of the railways and national security. A student leader posing with a fake identity may have duped many. This requires a thorough probe.”
CPI(M) state committee member Gargi Chattopadhyay also commented on the issue. She alleged that the incident involves more than just the use of fake documents. In her statement, she said, “Trinamool Congress means extortion. And to carry out this extortion, people like Shubh Ranjan Singh are forging documents and spreading them across the state. This is not just politics—it’s crime.”
There has been no official response yet from the railway authorities or law enforcement regarding possible investigation steps. The matter continues to draw political attention, and questions have been raised about whether legal action will be taken or an inquiry initiated based on the allegations and demands raised.
