Police have apprehended Sanjeet Singh, also known as Pappu and a nephew of MP Arjun Singh, in connection with the murder of Trinamool worker Vicky Yadav in Jagdal. The arrest comes after local MLA Somnath Shyam accused Pappu, claiming that Vicky's killers hailed from the Meghna Jute Mill Quarter and had connections with the MP.
Arjun Singh, however, alleges a conspiracy and asserts that Pappu is falsely implicated, informing the party about the situation. Vicky Yadav was fatally shot in front of his house on November 22, leading to the arrest of six individuals in the case.
Pappu Singh's lawyer contests the arrest, stating he was called in an old case during questioning at the DC DD office in Barrackpore on Thursday, raising concerns about the arrest methodology.
