CID enters Abhishek Banerjee's office ahead of

CID officials on Tuesday visited Abhishek Banerjee’s office on Camac Street and the Trinamool Congress office on Harish Chatterjee Street as part of their investigation into the alleged MLA signature forgery case. The agency also issued a summons directing Abhishek Banerjee to appear at Bhawani Bhavan at 5:00 PM on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing probe.

According to reports, CID officers arrived at the Camac Street office and waited outside for a considerable period. Investigators reportedly noticed several pairs of shoes outside the premises and believed people were present inside, but the office doors initially remained closed. Allegations of non-cooperation surfaced at first, although communication between investigators and office representatives reportedly took place later.

The summons was issued after Abhishek Banerjee sought additional time, citing a matter scheduled before the Calcutta High Court on June 10. CID rejected the request and directed him to appear on Tuesday. Officials had earlier served another notice at his Kalighat Road residence on Monday. The latest communication is reported to be the third notice issued to him in connection with the investigation. According to available information, he has been in Delhi since Saturday, when the summons was first issued.

CID officers also visited the Trinamool Congress office opposite Mamata Banerjee’s residence on Harish Chatterjee Street as part of the same investigation. Reports indicate that around 30 CID personnel participated in the operation. A tense situation reportedly developed when former TMC MP Subhashis Chakraborty objected to the officers entering the party office. According to sources, CID officials questioned the objection, while party representatives reportedly stated that the individuals sought by investigators were in Delhi and requested an additional two days' time.
